I call this “context flattening”. Complaining about the morality of a general trend of events to deflect away from the specifics of a current event, usually because the person doing it is implicated by those specifics. Happens a lot with “cancel culture”. Like, literally list out in your head all the situations which people have referred to as someone being “cancelled”. The context is abstracted away to make this seem like a Thing That Happens. It’s a complete construction.

I like watching history youtube. Sometimes I'll find a new channel, start watching videos, and everything seems fine at first. Hey, they're talking about ancient human migration and how different groups influenced other groups, this is interesting. But then sometimes they start talking about haplogroups just a bit too much and I start to get a queasy feeling that the channel is going in a direction that I'm not going to enjoy.
Oh for sure, any indication that they don't think any people group with darker skin than a paper bag couldn't have built impressive ancient sites is a giant red flag, a flashing light, and a klaxon siren.
I should add that the thing that gets me about the haplogroups is that it seems innocent at first. It's interesting to see how groups of people migrated across the millennia and what effect they had one one another culturally, and DNA is a way of seeing who met and mingled with who. So the first couple of times, in the right context, it seems perfectly reasonable and quite interesting. But then I start noticing it comes up kind of a lot, and I start having questions about this guy's preoccupations and what point he might be driving at. So it's more sneaky than the ancient aliens thing, at least in my experience.

Having English as second language I am still not sure when you use the one and the other. So I use female more as describing normative stuff in culture, as stuff is assigned as female.
“Female” is generally a more formal, clinical term. You’d generally see it used in paperwork or medical/scientific documents moreso than day-to-day speech.
For instance, you’d see sex indicated using “male” or “female” on a hospital intake or on a passport specifically. “Girl” and “Woman” would be the go-to for more conversational contexts.
Basically, if "female" is used as an adjective, it's fine. If it's used as a noun, that's a red flag. A good way to check is to try putting an "s" on the end of the word and see if it makes sense. "I wish people realized that more females drone pilots isn't actually an advance for women's liberation" that doesn't make sense, it's used as an adjective, modifying the noun "pilots." Vs. "Oh hell yes, there are some females at this bar." Oh no, using the plural s makes sense in this context, you're using it as a noun and now even if nobody else can see it, I can see an invisible fedora sitting on your head. If you can pluralize it, it's a noun.
This is more of an attitude than a "fact", but the biggest red flag to me is obsessing over categorizing people.
