Just to make sure I'm not confused: A cis woman punches another cis woman, and they're all mad because they thin the puncher is a trans woman?

I'm so fucking tired of this discourse, besides the very obvious transphobia that the Brits love, at this point it's thinly veiled sexism that the only women competing should be visibly stereotypically feminine. Which you know, runs counter to the required muscle mass to compete in these sports. Then you've got the factor that the women targeted in these tirades are often times POC so it's checking even more bigotry boxes.

With their collapsing economy and lack of import in global politics, the purpose of TERF island appears to be acting as a bigotry factory exporting their shit takes to the rest of the world.

And probably a heaping scoop of racism on top. I feel like TERFs are always jumping to make trans accusations towards cisgender women of color.

George Foreman won Olympic gold in 1968, he was so absurdly strong that even in his literal 40s, coming out of retirement to box again mainly because he was absolutely broke, while having the physique of Homer Simpson, he still punched so hard that opponents that actually BEAT HIM would start asking their corner during the breaks between rounds to please check that all of their teeth were still attached, and his comeback career was still almost unanimously treated as a total farce.

This shit is so fucking dumb in comparison, yeah of course she hits hard, shes an Olympic boxer. She beat rural Algerian misogyny to make it this far and now this fascist culture war bullshit is trying to ruin her life.

She was told by her coach not to compete. I have high doubts that a olympic boxer would give up because her nose hurt after getting punched. And she was granted an "abandoned" verdict instead of defeat. This is obviously intentional melodrama to make her seem like a victim and so she doesn't officially lose. Other women have fought Khelif and won. It's almost comical how obvious this is an example of white women crocodile tears, especially egregious when it's an olympic boxer doing it.

what does that mean, surely she'd still be eliminated or whatever happened with a defeat in the tournament structure, right? does it save face in official records?

I just don't buy this. She wouldn't shake hands, she said after the fight that "the IOC will judge" several times, which sounds to me like trying to stoke the controversy and imply that if the IOC don't overturn it then she doesn't think it's valid.

Also she's a cop from a family of cops.

Yeah, this one got a lot of attention because British runner and professional crybaby Lynsey Sharp did a big performative cry after the race about how unfair the rules were and how her dream had been taken away. She then turned it into a celebrity press tour and a book deal here in the UK.

She didn't even only lose to Caster Semenya. She came sixth!

REJECT REACTIONARY MODERNITY (hexagons and one unit per tile)

                  YES.

I don't have a lot of time for gaming, but Steam says I've managed to find 795.3 hours for 5 over the years.

I haven't even played 6. I was so disappointed by the graphics that I didn't buy it. My husband saw a super sale on Steam and got it for us both a while ago, and he tried playing some around me to entice me, and it just made me hate it more.

I like how they did it in Endless Legend to where you can put 8 units in one tile as an army and then each of those units breaks down once the fighting begins. Never seen the combat in humankind but I can assume it's similar?

it's been too long since i've played any 4X (a few months) but i'm pretty sure that you can have stacks move across the map and position out of combat, but battles actually happen in a small restricted set of tiles and the stacks are split up to make you position and find advantage in the battle specifically. i think the battle itself has it's own set of 3 phases (like turns within the battle only) to resolve

We are going to be witnessing new levels of rage-posting as transphobes confront the undeniable scientific fact that biological sex is also a spectrum.

Get ready for conservatives to start demanding genetic sequencing for girls' high school sports, they now will be claiming that genital inspections don't go far enough.

This is actually pretty standard TERF shit. They believe that trans women are men, and that men are inherently violent against women. In this way, sending a trans athlete and beating a woman are manifestations of the same violence.

Die mad, Joanne, the sooner the better.

I wouldn't make a judgement like that about her. I think her only mistake is either her spacing or inadequate head movement. There are times where that counter-punch pays for your Ferrari. One stand out example in which spacing makes the difference is Connor McGregor (up and comer) for UFC gold backing up against Jose Aldo (established and dominating) and KOing him with a counterpunch[1]. Then there's Sean O'Malley for UFC gold backing up against Aljamain Sterling [4]. Israel Adesanya has moments in UFC title fights where he comes out victorious from a counterpunch that looks a lot more like what she was going for[2][3].
