      So we have a recipe for armed, organized, networks of fascists across europe and the west who we are arming to the teeth and allowing to forge revolutionary bonds with one another through the war

      This is the biggest propaganda victory for fascists since, I don't even know

              All it would take is for this new wave of fascism to center on "Western Supremacy" in a more general sense to open up a big tent, before of course narrowing to a teeny pyramid of those pure enough

                  I don't even necessarily think you're wrong about Russia, but you're the one making up and arguing about future hypotheticals so that's a weird thing to accuse someone else of doing. It's also ridiculous to demand or even expect that others give their full support of a capitalist power. Being suspicious of Russia's future plans (while also recognizing they are not the aggressors but are doing the truly good deed of killing nazis here and now) is absolutely a valid position for leftists.

              Assad is a fascist.

              He literally invited David fucking Duke former Grand Wizard of the KKK for a state visit and put him on national TV to do a fascist rally saying Syria's fight against Israel and the US rights fight against (((zionists))) are one struggle.

              The printing house personally owned by his former minister of defense (a marriage of state and corporate power, I wonder where I've heard that one before :thonk: ) has published 2 new editions of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in the last 2 decades along with some several blood libel books he personally wrote and the Syrian Ministry of Information in 2005 decided that was what they wanted to show at the Syrian stall of the Cairo International Book Fair.

              None of this justifies the carpet bombing of Syrian cities, but Bashar, Hafez, and the Syrian Ba'athist party are violently antisemitic nazi sympathiser, anticommunist ethnonationalists and have been since before they first took power.

      We have to consider where all of this flood of NATO weapons is going to end up too.

      If I was part of a state anti-terrorism command I would be losing my shit right now. Javelin's can kill anything that moves from 2km away. School bus full of nuns? Yacht full of prime ministers? Balcony full of diplomats with a line of sight to a nearby hill? Boom. Boom. Boom. And then there's all the small arms and high explosives that are going to turn up missing, the armed drones, the RPGs, and god knows what else.
