Your son is pretending to be a catboy on the internet with his leftist friends.

My son is trapped in Ukraine as a human meat shield.

    We are not the same.

My coworker half-jokingly half-seriously is thinking about volunteering for Ukraine. I told them it’s not worth it to get blown up by a Russian cruise missile, and all they did was talk about how good Ukrainian air defense is.

I’m both excited, that the world is slowly transitioning away from the US dollar and also concerned how it will impact me and my daily life domestically

I expect that's a pretty common sentiment among the US left rn. Happy to watch the empire keep shooting itself in the ass but sucks to have to struggle even more to survive in a collapsing empire hellworld. As usual, working class people gonna be the ones to suffer the first and the worst. Yay capitalism and US hegemony!!

If it makes you feel any better (it won't) the best time to ever live in the UK was immediately after their global empire collapsed.

That won't happen here, but, you know. It could. (it won't)

"The nazis hiding out with him will kill him if he surrenders" is the narrative they were pushing last week. So it's DO or DIE for zelensky and he's taking tens of thousands of innocents down with him and quite possibly all of humanity. :doomer:

People here even pushed that. Like even if true there are so many civilians dead now because of the choice to keep fighting

When Yugoslavia turned to this circus of a court to stop the NATO bombings in 1999 the the court claimed it had no jurisdiction. [ x ]

Ukrainewarts thinks that laws are magic spells. They declare no-fly-zone and cast the international court charm.

I radioed for help but no one on there spoke English (only a few of us in the unit spoke any Ukrainian but I wasn’t one of them). I had to pull up Google Translate on my phone but it was severely cracked from all the debris from the explosions. I was able to translate “I need the Ghost of Kyiv at [coordinates]” (I had to use Google Maps for that). I don’t know what the Ukrainians replied with, but I sat in the ditch waiting for an air strike on the location for about 30 minutes but nothing happened.

Porky guy with adidas running shoes and a weird white spiral patch on his vest.

I stopped by a guy on the ground - I think he was American - to grab the radio given to us. I think he assumed I was trying to save him because he gestured me off and said “leave me, just go!” Anyway, I did go and ran for about 10 minutes and hid in a ditch.

Luckily I came by a car and stopped it. It was driven by a combat aged male (looked 25-30), but he didn’t have any weapons, gear, or uniform on him so I suspected it was a Russian saboteur trying to infiltrate the city. I forced him out the car and zip tied him to the bike rack

Spoke to someone who was planning to do pro-Ukraine activism. They didn't even know who Azov are. Very cool and informed public.

It's extremely weird how during the Syria crisis, the UK simply didn't have any room for any refugees fleeing from war, we were full up, but now that Ukrainians are fleeing from war, there's plenty of room for them to come! Theresa and Boris must have built a ton of houses between now and then!

It's heartening to know that during the next war in a non-white country, such as Iran if the US invades, we'll finally have enough room to take them in this time.

It's the hypocritical (well, not really hypocritical as they obviously didn't believe in it in the first place, it was just racist) discourse by conservatives I was referring to, not the public policy.

Lavrov sees “some hope” for reaching a compromise in the negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv to end the war, according to local media.

Heartwarming! Former Azov Battalion freedom fighters of Ukraine, now full-fledged US citizens swear citizenship oath at Disney's Galaxy's Edge themepark, welcomed as full members of the rebel alliance.

Corbyn antisemitism and russiagater freak is now openly praising Azov, including quoting their use of racial slurs, and fighting anyone in the replies who calls the nazi battalion a nazi battalion.

Spend billions to arm some Slavic Nazis on the other side of the globe in a conflict that should mean nothing to 99% of Americans: oh hell yeah!
