Surprise, another old white guy

Investigators learned that several children were playing hide and seek in the Starks community and were hiding on the neighbor’s property.

Doyle told detectives that he got his gun when he saw shadows outside his home and shot at people he saw running away, unknowingly hitting the girl, officials said.

Injuries not considered life threatening

Folks, it’s time to talk to our kids about staying away from old white people, especially their houses. Not even kidding.

"Why don't kids play outside anymore?"

Well maybe because "outside" consists entirely of:

    1. P R I V A T E P R O P E R T Y where the landowner will shoot you on sight

    2. 6-lane stroads where a 10-ton SUV driver will run you over and not even notice it

It makes me sick the number of people in my life who've expressed that exact position. I used to think they were just talking repulsive shit, but now I think a lot of them were being honest

Like, fuck, I'm not even close to pacifistic and this is incomprehensible to me. It's bad enough to be willing - or worse, eager - to shoot somebody for trying to steal your Xbox, but this guy apparently just uses his house as a people-hunting stand

Give it 3 years and they will start killing solely "because I can lol".

One of these boomers is going to unironically say "I did it for teh lulz".

It was and is always time to talk about staying away from old white peoples houses.

There was a reason most kids movies up until the 2000s had an ornery old white person that everyone in the neighborhood knew was a piece of shit.

Dennis the Menace did no wrong.

Honestly, I somewhat wonder if we need to start holding capitalist media accountable for hysteria and fear-mongering about petty crime. Boomers all get their news from TV and Newspapers that scream at them about youth crime and make it seem like they're going to be attacked by thieves at any moment. This makes them paranoid and trigger happy.

No disagreement on anything here. I'm also wondering how much undiagnosed neurological damage has happened in older people now society has decided to just let COVID rip. We know that COVID can have serious neurological effects, especially in older age groups. And that's not even getting into how poisoned the boomers were by a lifetime of lead exposure, another proven source of neurological damage.

Just the other day, some of our Chilean comrades here were saying a big reason for the electoral swing rightward there is the bourgeois media portraying Venezuelan immigrants as creating a massive crime wave in the country.

In the US, scaring the old white people is so effective because it plays into their notions of white supremacy. By being afraid of minorities, their feelings of racial superiority are actually increased.

Stale crackers are so feral. I did a horticultural consult for one who was as giddy as a child in a toy store as she described wanting to murder squirrels for trespassing on her lawn in a desert. Pure death drive wrapped in a treat hog body.

It makes me happy knowing that people like her will be slowly malnourished to death due to climate change while managing to find less food than the squirrels do.

They probably won't. She'll probably live the rest of her life in relative prosperity while people in South Asia suffer increasingly bad unlivable heat waves and flooding every year.

When chuds say communists would take away their guns, they are correct. These people should in no way have guns. They shouldn't even have kitchen knives.
