Love being gaslit every fucking day about how Russia is going to do a terrorist attack on the nuclear plant it has controlled for months, that has its own troops guarding, and is in a region they plan to annex.

The fucking elevator at work yesterday even had a little news brief that quoted Zekenskyyyyyy about how Russia is planning a terrorist attack there. IT'S THEIR OWN FUCKING NUCLEAR PLANT.

in america they force you to listen to the state media in the elevator and at the gas pump. you can't even turn the volume down.

Oh it's even better than that, most of the time it's some bullshit ad targeted to mayo PMC types or cooking tips like "marinate your pork"

This isn't how international multilateral treaties work, so definitely just yankoid posturing.

I would laugh really hard if this caused the end of NATO when the US invokes Article 5 and all the EU countries just go "nah, we're not going to die for this shit."

Half of them (baltics, belgium, netherlands, scandinavia, even Germany etc) yeah. For the other half going to war against Russia on Ukraine due to the plant getting destroyed or leaking ?? Naaaah

No matter how cucked the party in power is it just wouldnt fly in a bunch of them. I'm just saying from a Greek perspective ,if the PM announced tommorrow that we are sending even 5k troops and half our armor to Ukraine to fight against Russia, the country would come to a halt for weeks and even half the army would just implode. Easily 10%+ of the population will take the streets and major city centers will basicaly burn. There would be like a 5% popular support for that. Outside of the baltics or completely dominated by brainbroken russia crazed liberal populations and political spheres like Belgium and Netherlands etc the friction would be unsustainable. Same with France to a lesser degree. Macron isnt pulling off going to war against Russia even if he wanted to, which actualy i think he doesnt. Same with Tukrey im pretty sure and they are even more geopoliticaly and militarily their own player. Good luck to anything requiring a consensus or near consensus decision from NATO countries . At least 30% of them including the bigger players wouldnt join in by anything bellow Putin straight up being caught on camera missle striking a major NATO city

i made this to be some sort of throw away but this thread is interesting and to give some french context, not one normal french person who hasnt had their frontal lobe melted by tv or the news circus france cares about ukraine, no one wants to fight there, most people realized months ago that ukraine will lose and to be brutally honest, all people care about here is the fact that a baguette went from a euro to THREE in some cities. Add to this that most people know the media has been bought out by billionaires and the only ones who trust it are +50, a minority, you got a country very much bent on not going to war. I also purposefully left out the massive middle finger the establiremovedt gave to the entire country and the near civil war situation that existed until very recently and that could explode again at any time. Macron isn't dumb even though hes a neolib and he knows this is simply impossible and the country would implode. Besides we're the only country in europe with our own nukes, and our military gear is actually suited for a real conflict unlike the cash cow wunderwaffens grifts the MIC keeps pumping out, so wtf is the US going to do? Call us allies of putler and declare war? Fucking lol

i'm pretty sure the army would just coup him to stop a very likely civil war from happening, which would directly lead to fascism and a civil war happening anyway. fun!

So much of modern NATO that isn't the US is just Turkey and France. They're the ones you need to convince, and neither of them seem particularly on board for this shit.

Nah i dont believe these two would go to war on Ukraine. Even if Macron pushed for it ,which i really doupt, the riots and anti-war rallies would be destabilizing to a huge degree and unlike america like 50% of the electoral constituency and parties wouldnt support it. Turkey wouldnt fucking care about guily by assosication and Erdogan just secured his position with the elections and the country has many trade and military options. Population is probably 95% strongly against going to war against russia unless they are straight up attacked and the western media narrative about the war isnt dominant for most of the population despite their political beliefs. They arent the baltics or completely dominated by brainbroken russia crazed liberal populations and political spheres like idk Belgium and Netherlands.

wow it's almost like the dissolution of the warsaw pact was a humanitarian disaster for everyone except the bourgeoisie, and now you have a geopolitical situation where a bunch of former soviet/warsaw pact countries have been taken over by bloodthirsty reactionaries while Amerikkka profits quietly in the distance. disgost

During the cold war they had defined how many tens of millions of dead were considered acceptable loses. I've also heard that there was a broad agreement that the cities were teeming hives of undesirables so really it was okay if city centers got nuked. It's amazing that Strategic Air Command didn't destroy the world. "Psychos" isn't a strong enough pejorative for those rabid animals.

at one point the Americans loaded a plane with nuclear weapons and sent it to blow up Moscow because the base they were on in Alaska didn't have phone connection for half an hour. The pilot only turned around because he saw lights over Berlin. To be clear we were a powercut away from nuclear armageddon because some dipshit decided to look tough by having a light nuclear trigger policy

I'm sorry, I cannot imagine this. Sure, cities are a wretched hiveminds of hippies or whatever but at some point somebody had to have pointed out that there is a reason cities exists globally and it ain't just so people can be gay

How about those two go to the front lines and see how their manufactured war boners really defend the homeland.

Russia has every right to declare war on the Unites States and Europe. They have every right to sanction and imprison Sen. GRAHAM for crimes against humanity, genocide, and mass murder of East Ukrainians and Russians.

Here the chickenhawk is setting the stage for a proxy war with Russia to Ukrainian armed forces in 2016

Jesus Christ. Someone who knows more about these particular assholes, I'm asking honestly: do they want nuclear war? Do they think Russia will just knuckle under if it comes to that? Is there some way they'd stand to benefit from a nuclear exchange? Is it a refusal to admit that the US isn't the global hegemon anymore? Or are they just really that stupid and in denial?
