I mean... this is better than Trump doing a Reagan '84. Would have been nice if the billions of dollars pissed away this election cycle had been spent somewhere fucking useful. But I'm not sad Trump is losing the Midwest this time around. And who knows? Maybe this shit will radicalize her?

Would be nice if Natalie came out of this waving a copy of What Is To Be Done rather than just burning out and retreating into Harry Potter.

How can she be this fucking dense?

I think she's already answered this question. How many times has she joked about her own privilege showing in her videos? Of course, if you're lib, you think she's just being woke-when in reality, she's literally just flaunting her privilege and then laughing about it like it's not a big deal. That's brain worms right there buddy.

No, that's not what I'm saying. I have never seen her say anything that contradicts "Even if Biden wins and Trump is removed (kicking & screaming if not literally at gunpoint), it’s a shamefully narrow victory that showcases the continued power of the Trump base, the utter ineffectiveness of the Democrats, and the many glaring flaws of our whole electoral system" so why would it be necessary for her to change her views.

"You should vote for Biden" is not the same thing as "Biden will save us all"

Sadly for a lot of (internet) leftists, the bulk of their political activity can be summed up as "vocal declarations of support or condemnation for particular people/causes/organizations, without any meaningful contribution to it succeeding/failing". Voting in America is kinda the ultimate spectacle of "loudly declaring support/condemnation for something without any meaningful contribution to its outcome", So "I spent the 5 minutes it took voting for Biden because at least he won't OPENLY proselytize white supremacist followers to commit random acts of terror against minorities" gets turned into "Joe Biden is an important aspect of my political identity".

TBH, I think this is actually the best outcome. Trump is out of the whitehouse, which is good for obvious reasons. The dems, however, by all measures definitely still "blew the election" though, and all everyone is talking about is "What the fuck, that was waaay to close, we might've won by just dumb luck", and most importantly "What the fuck happened, what did we do wrong". This video has been going viral in the aftermath https://www.thewrap.com/watch-bernie-sanders-accurately-predict-what-just-happened-on-election-night-9-days-ago-video/ . "Bernie Told Ya So" is going to be buzzing around mainstream perspectives now, and that can let us dominate the conversation.

I could give a shit if people misjudge the relative threats presented by Biden and Trump and the merits of voting third party. The entire problem with the “vote blue” shitlibs is that they don't believe in any action outside voting, a perspective Natalie hasn't endorsed even though every fucking person on this site just pretends she did for some reason.

And I don't get why the tweet you literally cited isn't evidence of her true beliefs but "idk I kinda feel like she would think this" is

She was basically a gateway drug for people to go to the left, but looking back she's always been a lib. I loved her "Problems with Capitalism" video the first time I saw it, but watching it now it's completely surface level and offers no solution to those problems, marxist or otherwise.

Isn't the lib position "it's not my job to educate you!" and to hyperventilate about legitimizing oppression by engaging with chuds? Actually meeting people where they are and engaging in a dialect to try and change minds is something the left should be doing.

Isn’t the lib position “it’s not my job to educate you!”

Depends on the audience. A lot of this is reactionary and counter-reactionary shit where - say - a conservative insists climate change isn't real until he's been presented with a full calculus proof on thermal patterns spanning six centuries.

Actually meeting people where they are and engaging in a dialect to try and change minds is something the left should be doing.

That tends to depend on the message. Lots of ideological evangelicals try to change other people's minds. I'm not sure I'd call Ross Perot and Milton Friedman leftists.

Who the fuck does she think is going to drag Trump out at gunpoint after the supreme court gives it to him?

All the institutions are on his side.

The democrats aren't going to do a military coup. They will roll over because they will recognise that it has more chances of causing a civil war than just letting Trump rule.

All the institutions are on his side.

Not really. The ruling class decidedly preferred Clinton to Trump in 2016, and while Trump did some helpful work for them during his tenure, it’s not like they are going to be screwed by a Biden presidency. Maybe there’s some marginal benefit to Trump’s policies (and that’s a small margin compared to Biden’s policies), but there’s also a benefit to not going mask off and exposing class rule, which was their problem with Trump’s ham-fisted approach all along.

Not to mention the legitimacy of their liberal “democracy.” Like I see this meme on here that things inevitably descend into fascism as like the true preference of the bourgeoisie. But that’s not actually their preference. Under their bourgeois liberal democracies, there are “safe” channels for dissent in elections that they win by default. Fascism is generally more costly in terms of investment into the state, and less predictable, because it requires turning over power to an enraged and psychotic mass movement of the petite bourgeois (and there is no organized movement like that in the US that is ready to take power).

If Trump has some plausibly-legal avenue to secure victory in the courts, of course the Democrats won’t stand in his way. But right now they are literally still counting votes against Trump’s stated preference, and he may well lose the election based on that continued count. Seems like his declaration of victory hasn’t been acknowledged by anyone outside of his own camp.

Exactly, don't see any reason for SCOTUS to capitulate to Trump. Trump is ahead right now, he needs to win a recount in Arizona or pull ahead in Nevada. Maybe they could halt all counting in Pennsylvania to maintain his lead there, but otherwise Trump's paths to victors require recounts or continuing counting in the pending states. So SCOTUS would actually have to throw votes out or make mail-in voting unconstitutional or something. That would be such an outrageously political move by a bunch of new political appointees that it would ruin the legitimacy of the state, endangering the very power of those SCOTUS justices.

But alternatively, they can just hand it to Biden, and remain in their seats until they die. Meanwhile, Biden will do nothing to them, has no power without the Senate, and wouldn't pack the court anyways. So why take such a risk on Trump? Might as well give it to Biden, what is Trump going to do either against you or for you? You already have your lifetime appointment.

the election is close enough that reps are gonna fight it but the thought that trump is not gonna leave and go full dictator once the political establishment decides biden won is pretty silly. the one thing the owners cant take is some dummy rocking the boat, you are allowed to huff and puff and even steal an election but only as long as you dont rock the illusion bourgeois democracy is built upon.

EDIT: liberal democracy can of course drop the mask as has happened in other nations, but i don't think america is there at all as far as this election is concerned.
