For this Sunday Slop Night, first up, by request, is Serbian war dramedy Pretty Village, Pretty Flame (1996), concerning a squad of Bosnian Serb soldiers who find themselves trapped in a tunnel by a Bosniak assault, with childhood friends finding themselves on opposite sides. Surely this will end happily. This is the best-known and most highly-regarded film of director Srdan Dragojevic, and is considered more broadly to be one of the best Serbian films of all time. We’ll give it a shot. After that is the Iranian meta-comedy-drama-thing about a girl who has to find her way home after her mom fails to pick her up from school. Where the hell did she go?! Also, the movie takes a cool meta turn after awhile. This is one of the highest-rated Iranian films on Letterboxd, and arguably the best-regarded of director Jafar Panahi’s career. Let’s watch.

We’ll start at 9PM EST on Hextube, right here: https://live.hexbear.net/c/movies
