For this Sunday Kino Night, we’re starting off with the dramedy We All Loved Each Other So Much (1974), one of the highest-rated Italian films on Letterboxd. It follows a trio of dudes who rock against the Nazis in WW2, but then have to settle into civilian life after the war. They then grow apart, and their relationships become strained. Will they reconcile? I guess we’ll find out. This is the second-best-known film of director Ettore Scola, who also did A Special Day (1977), which we will have to watch sometime. After that is our obligatory Christmas film for the night, Carol (2015), concerning a 1950s wage slave (played by Rooney Mara) who starts woogin’ for a middle-aged married woman (played by Cate Blanchett) during the holiday season. What could possibly go wrong? Director is Todd Haynes, who also did Safe (1995), which was a good flic; reviews for this one are excellent, so let’s give it a whirl.

We’ll start at 9PM EST on Hextube, right here:
