Lets hope 30 years from now I can say "China saved the world from Fascism" instead of saying "hey look! I'm a skull in a mass grave!"

I like China but their anti-interventionism irks me, but I understand why they do it. But the thing is we're like rapidly closing the gap here in terms of the west crawling into bed with fascism, I guess it remains to be seen. Maybe they won't export revolution or attack until they're directly threatened, which I have no doubt a neo-fascist USA would love to do.

We're fucking stuck. Even if China is better, their policies are distinctly Chinese, which makes sense. And then there's the issue of climate change, and I'm not sure the East or West is doing a particularly good job tackling it... current conflicts show just how crucial and efficient fossil fuel still is to run the mammon machine we're currently paralyzed by.

AFAIK China has invested a LOT more into renewable energy than the US but as there are so many factories there and so many coal power plants to wean off, it's a much greater challenge. As opposed to the US and Western countries, where, while it would require a complete reorientation of the economy and basically the end of "free market" capitalism as we know it to reach net zero, the fact that they don't have a shitload of domestic industry (weird, huh? I wonder where that went and who they're now blaming climate change on) means it would be easier. And the infrastructure programs would also make a ton of good jobs for people but 'full employment' is a no-no phrase for most western economists

If I'm a skull in a mass grave, I demand to be crushed by a cool ass robot as the camera pans to explosions in the background

The apocalypse WILL be metal, so help me god

We should start getting skull bone tattoos so we can preserve some choice memes for future archaeologists stumbling across the mass grave

If you want to preserve your tattoos for future generations make sure you die underwater in a peat bog. The extremely low amount of oxygen in the water, combined with the acidity, means you don't really rot. Your bones dissolve, but your skin can be preserved for thousands of years.

Bold of you to assume that there will be someone to dig graves for us
