      I know little about this group, but war brings times of desperation and scarcity. Community defense falls within the purview of ideologically committed Anarchists and Marxists, and with fascists rolling around in tanks and vigilantes torturing and killing people indiscriminately, it is sorely needed.

      It's a very dangerous situation though. If they are legit, they'll easily find themselves caught in the middle of two armies who consider them enemies. If they are just jackoffs fighting hand in hand with the Nazis taking orders from a bourgeois state under martial law, none of this applies and they can eat shit.

          They may not be (seemingly can't see the linked page without being logged into Instagram; feel free to disregard or correct if anyone has more info about affiliation). Some "anarchists" have joined the "Territorial Defense Forces". Some anarchists have not, and are simply practicing community defense; hopefully against the goons of both nation-states and unaffiliated fascists alike.

            If they are part of the official Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces then they are indeed fighting under the direct command of Nazi battalions and not just nebulously for “defense”

      Technically the og anarchists fought the soviets too, Marxism and anarchism weren’t friends until they had to be in the west due to their mutual irrelevance.

          These words ring pretty hallow when the people fighting alongside you are Nazis and NATO, probably the most efficient anarchist killers in history

          There is no victory or future for anarchism under NATO, the Euro, or the hellscape Eastern Europe would become should neo-Nazis realize their ambitions

        Marxists also opposed the Soviet Union. There was plenty of comradeship between anarchists and (many) other socialists outside the West and while both "were relevant".

          …there are pros and cons here but I mean true relevance when anarchists were still a thing between ww1 and ww2. (Technically I can bring up the competition between the first and second internationales but whatever)
