Kate Austin, born on this day in 1864, was an American journalist and anarchist feminist known for her essay "Woman", which disparaged scientific efforts to prove women's inferiority to men and urged society to abandon sexist customs.
Born in LaSalle County, Illinois, Austin lived in the American Midwest for most of her life. In 1883, her father discovered Lucifer, an anarchist/free love journal published by the feminist Moses Harman. This influence coupled with the Haymarket Riot of 1886 politically radicalized Austin, bringing her to call herself an anarchist and a feminist.
Austin joined the American Press Writers Association, and her work increased as she came in contact with many well known radical writers and lecturers of her time, keeping her busy reading and writing. She contributed to the magazine Lucifer, as well as The Firebrand, Free Society, Discontent, and The Demonstrator.

Currently tidying up and cleaning my neglected apartment. I won't lie, I have barely cleaned it for like 4 years because of crippling executive dysfunction and now that I have to clean everything at once it's like I'm constantly confronted with my worst failures and complete inability to function outside of my own head.
And no, I can't take it slowly because my apartment is being inspected today. Not having a great time rn.

You can do it! For executive dysfunction and cleaning, it helps me sometimes to make a list of the most essential tasks and cross them off as I go. It helps me focus and gives me a little dopamine hit when something gets crossed off. Keep going!
I've been browsing Hexbear on the corporate Wifi for years and haven't been fired. I can only assume I have radicalized the IT department.

At my work we are short staffed. If they raised pay we could get more staff, we could do more work, and the company would make more money. In the old lib part of my brain it is just confused as to why they don't wanna do their job right.

just randomly remembered i had an elementary school teacher that said the ice bridge the native americans crossed over was over the atlantic ocean and that noah’s ark created the grand canyon
I wish I remembered my elementary school better, just to have a more objective opinion on the experience. but I feel like I never learned that much. I mostly remember the bullying because I was the only white kid. I kind of hate that there is no place to really talk about that kind of experience without either talking to racists or the lib-brained.
Not really to undo trauma or commiserate, I feel like I'm past that now but just to share an experience without being judged.
