For this edition of Saturday Anime Night, we’re moving on The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2006), the smash-hit anime about the wacky adventures of an eccentric, exuberant schoolgirl and her not-quite-as-boisterous friends. Episodes 1 through 6 tonight.

After that is White Snake: Afloat (2024), the third installment in the animated Chinese wuxia fantasy series about a pair of shapeshifting, time-travelling snake sisters. In the first one, the white sister fell in love, and then was separated from her love, and in the second, the green sister was transported to the Fortnite universe and defeated an evil monk to get out. Now, the white sister is back, and apparently finds her love interest again. A bunch of swordfights and magical duels ensue along the way.
