Someone working at McDonalds could absolutely have their lives changed in a serious material way by the reward money being offered by the authorities here. It's awful but America has done an absolutely incredible job at separating out workers into individual units that are meant to fight each other for scraps rather than allowing them to organize into coherent worker groups with class solidarity.
