Copying over from last thread:
They specifically sent T-72M1s for anyone curious (and they apparently only sent 5 of them lol). For reference, T-72M1 is the export designation for the T-72A, which entered Soviet service in 1979, and is the same model of tank that the Iraqi army fielded against the US 31 years ago in the Gulf War. Compared to Ukraine's main tank, the T-64BV, they're worse in basically every aspect except for being slightly more mobile.
Of course, they can still do damage to lightly armored targets, or in ambushes against heavily armored targets. But they'll be made into mincemeat by the majority of tanks and anti-tank weapons fielded by the modern Russian army, and the fact that the Czechs only sent five of them makes this shipment even more useless lol.
It must be hell trying to train people on all these different weapons platforms, to say nothing of trying to service and maintain them all.
Ukraine already operates an upgraded variant of the T-72A, the T-72AMT. It seems like the T-72AMT didn't recieve much of an upgrade to the FCS compared to the T-72A/T-72M1 (aside from the ability to fire gun launched atgms), so training shouldn't be too much of an issue assuming they can find an already trained crew.
