It always comes from a "anonymous" "whistleblower" off fucking 4chan talking about underwater pyramids building UFOs and coming to abduct white people.

I have a VERY reliable anonymous source with definitive proof that the UFOs over New Jersey are actually just the Nintendo Switch 2. (I will post proof later, I promise.) /s

underwater pyramids building UFOs and coming to abduct white people.

With this kind of budget, this Stargate SG-1 reboot is gonna be off the chain

Unfortunately that budget was blown entirely on finding more ammo for their P90s. Totally worth it.

Is Charlie Kirk an insane conspiracist now? Didn’t he used to just be your run of the mill Shapiro type

I wonder if the Shapiro types just aren't that popular any more/are losing their billionaire funding and this is Kirk's attempt to pivot to a new audience, so to speak.

It does seem like the Shapiros are losing steam in favor of the Alex Jones type. The next most popular are gaming streamers like Asmongold who do dumb guy centrism and allow the right-wing to guide them in their direction

        • AssortedBiscuits [they/them]
          ·

Alex Jones is a lot wackier and I bet a large proportion of his audience started out watching him ironically or just seeing him as a harmless comedic crank before slowly getting sucked in until they emerged on the other side as true believers.

Ben Shapiro is thoroughly unfunny and radiates powerful loser energy which is not helped by him being short and people (unfairly) associating short men with losers who suffer from a Napoleon complex. The only people who don't see his loser aura are already true believers.

Some are also just planes and helicopters with transponders off.

Was inevitable with modern smartphone cameras getting better zoom lenses. Now anyone can take a picture of these objects in the sky.

I just don't get how they're not tired of this. There's one of these at least once per year and every time The Big One never happens. You'd think that after a few times people would get sick of it and just tune out any future doomsdays but there's always an audience for the next one

it feels like they're desperately trying to relive the days of hysteria around Government Control during covid that swept up a lot of the less extreme conservatives

during covid that swept up a lot of the less extreme conservatives

it's funny because once the happenings actually started they insisted the disease was fake

we could have actual fucking gray aliens abducting people in front of our eyes and they'll think the aliens are fake, and that instead the FBI sprayed LSD in the chemtrails to MKultra their entire neighborhood

The thing is I know quite a few conservatives (mostly family members and people I work with) who were initially scared about the news reports of covid deaths during January and February of 2020. Then Trump and RW media pundits made it clear what their stance on covid was, and they all fell in line saying it was fake or overblown.

These people are all told what to think.

Do you think it’s just ingrained contrarianism that causes this? I’m always amazed when the narrative flips on a dime like that and all memories of the previous one seem to get erased to them.

i saw that video of "balls of light transforming into airplaines". it's literally a plane coming at the camera head on, so it looks like a white light, then it turns, so it looks like the white light is transforming into a plane when it's so far away and some shitty phone camera is zoomed all the way in

as far as all the drones go, i don't know but that video is clearly not what all these people were freaking out about

    • RoabeArt [he/him]

Yeah, approaching planes with their landing lights on look like points of (relatively) stationary light when they're far away, but as they get closer the lights are angled away from your field of vision and are less intense, and it's obviously a plane.

I live near an airport and to this day I still mistake approaching planes for bright stars.

Yeah I've seen at least two studies showing that no matter what stuff you're into online, the algo pushes you into the right-wing and into conspiracies, which both tend to overlap. I know FB and YT shifted their algos in 2019 (and obvs X later) after RWers threw a fit that they were "biased" against conservative hate-content. Now it's like no matter what I watch on YT I get anti trans and RW bullshit. I literally never click on them, yet they keep getting pushed

So, in all seriousness ( which is no fun), all of these drone flights are just some kind of training exercise the military is doing, right? It's not that hard to follow a drone to where it's landing.
