Kremlin currently considering to place the large majority of unfriendly countries into a list of so-called "US protectorates", most of their diplomatic staff to be expelled from #Russia, the Russian govt will talk only with the #US about them to bypass useless intermediaries.

That's hilarious. But yeah, why not cut out the middle man and make it clear to everyone in those countries that they're not fooling anyone?

I’m finding it harder and harder not to like the guy.

Really? Because he's a right wing murdering goon who uses his intelligence services to ruthlessly crush any dissent, violently represses the left, and would probably shoot you if you ever caused enough of an annoyance to be noticed.

Putin is a really, really bad person. There's no reason to "like" him, ever. He gets some degree of extremely critical support because he's a thorn in the side of NATO. But remember that it's because NATO came after him, not because he wanted to be NATO's enemy. He's tried to join NATO repeatedly and would happily cooperate with their world order if they would let him.

Like seriously folks don't let contrarianism and disgust for western hegemony get you to start rooting uncritically for a different monster just because he's a different monster. The key part of critical support is "critical"

i chant 'death to america' every day. I'm laughing as it actually happens, sorry.

Yeah it’s the Ukrainian population and to some extent the European Nations (and Russia) picking up the tab for this, big W if the US comes out of this with the Dollar intact.

watching the us dollar lose reserve status because the dummy politicians overplayed their hand is hilarious, actually. IMF must be destroyed before more third world countries can have revolutions.

edit: also, sorry that the ukrainian nazis are having a hard time, i guess?

I agree it's funny watching Nazis eat shit and the US lose status but to revel in the continuance of a war that's causing untold suffering is very weird

I wouldn't say i'm 'reveling in the continuance of a war'. I'm just enjoying what good news comes out of it as I have absolutely no power of any of it.

You do not, under any circumstance, have to hand it to the guy.

          But he is occasionally funny.

I think "like" is not the right term to use here. He's as much a crook as any westoid leader.

However one must recognise his intelligence and ability to predict a situation. He seems to be a lot smarter and more perceptive than most western leaders.

That seems stupid, how are you gonna ever break some of those countries away of US influence if you refuse to "talk" to them

      • anoncpc [comrade/them]

Because they can’t. US already swept infiltrated to their party system and media. If they want, they could go path of Hungary and Serbia. Some of those countries already expel Russian diplomats, so this is retaliate

anyone Russia sees any potential to actually make inroads with will likely not qualify for this list

it's also goading the nations on the list into exercising more sovereignty

I don't think it's gonna be that clear cut. Yeah that's definitely the worst case scenario and it might happen but I don't think EU bourgeoisie is gonna take shit from the americans forever, they can see where the winds are blowing and they know the americans are throwing them under the bus.

What I think is gonna happen is they'll publicly be tut-tutting Russia while still buying up gas and doing trade.

Energy crisis + food shortage + broken supply chain + pandemic + climate change all seem to be happening at the same time.

William Gibson named this the Jackpot (before Russiagate ate his brain).

People in the EU are as used to treats as people in the US. If the liberal governments want to keep themselves afloat they're not gonna take away the treats. Yeah I'm sure some of the EU liberal establishment want to sacrifice themselves for the glory of US hegemony but I don't think most will. Then again things just keep getting dumber by the minute so anything is possible. We'll see.

I mean the UK spent what, five years slowly slitting it's own throat with Brexit, just to continue to impose austerity once it was out?

              much faster

Nah we're only about ten years ahead of schedule. This was always going to be a century of world wars to shame anything that has happened in human history, including WWII. Wait until 30 million people die in wet bulb event in Bangladesh and a hundred million more flee as refugees, all in the span of like a month.
