      I would guess many Ukrainians would prefer to give Donbas to Russia, never join NATO and be allowed to live peaceful lives.

      First, it's not a proxy war as Russia is directly involved and Ukraine is acting on its own interest. De-escalation is obviously the goal here, but I doubt that you're arguing in good faith, given as this community seems to be vehemently pro-Russia. I doubt that Ukraine would for example sign a treaty granting control over the Donbas to Russia, given 1) Russia's history of not honoring them, and 2) that Ukraine seem to be currently doing quite well. And that's not Ukraine being the evil aggressors, Russia literally invaded them. If Russia wanted, they could pull out of Ukraine entirely.

          Azov battalion is evil. So is Russia breaking treaties and launching a full scale invasion on a neighboring country. It's not very hard.

          Do you think a proxy war is only official if bidens yells, “I DECLARE PROXY WAR!!” Wikipedia: "A proxy war is an armed conflict between two states or non-state actors which act on the instigation or on behalf of other parties that are not directly involved in the hostilities." The war is between Russia and Ukraine. From 2014-2022, Russia was arming terrorist rebels in the Donbas, who were fighting against Ukraine. But now Russia has directly invaded. Besides, Biden and the US are far from the only ones helping Ukraine. Your backhanded quip about this community being vehemently pro-russia is full of shit. Have you read through this thread?
