Eh it's not that bad, you usually just carry the heavy shit to whatever point you're gonna set up shop at and leave it there with a guard detail and then prance around on your battle rattle until its time to completely exfil out.
Edit: that's if you're only pure leg infantry. If you have access to vehicles then it'll carry either the unneeded shit or essential shit, or you plus your shit, or extra shit and you're still walking with your heavy shit on.
