I haven't done as much research about martial law and shit as I would have liked to have done so I do actually wonder if this is a general ghoulish wartime thing or a particularly ghoulish thing by Ukraine, most of my googling about looting just brings up soldiers looting homes and stores, not civilians stealing/looting for basic survival.

Also I'd like to know if it is an actually common thing, if this is actually accepted or if its a case where the enemies of the west have been punished and critizised for it but when our friends do it, its normal suddenly. It might seem naive but I'd like to leave the door open at least that I'm not just witnessing widespread approval and acceptance of random bouts of fascist violence against civilian populations by everyone around me.

I was mistaken about how unusual the act of banning all men 18-60 from leaving the country seemed to me, so I'm open to being mistaken and not knowledgable about other wartime shit.
