Blas Roca Calederio, born on July 22 in 1908, was a Cuban communist revolutionary and radical journalist. Roca helped lead the 1933 general strike that ousted Gerardo Machado, and served in Fidel Castro's revolutionary government.
Born into a poor family, Roca began working at age eleven, shining shoes. According to Castro, Roca was already a prominent communist organizer in the province of Oriente at 21 years old.
At age 25, Roca helped lead a two week general strike that ousted dictator Gerardo Machado. By 1936, he was head of the Cuban Communist Party and began serving as a politican, helping author the 1940 Cuban Constitution.
Under Roca's leadership, Cuban communists were instrumental in providing an organizational and ideological structure for Castro's revolution, as well as playing a pivotal role using the party's long-standing ties with the Soviet Union to promote increasingly closer ties during the early days of the revolution.
In 1961, Blas Roca, leading a party delegation, presented a Cuban flag to Nikita Khrushchev during a meeting of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Roca served on the first central committee and politburo of the new Communist Party of Cuba, founded in 1965.

Had to put my best friend down yesterday. 12 wonderful years together. Feeling his presence replaced by absence is crushing me.
Losing my dog genuinely hit me harder than losing family members had in the past (disclaimer: i live on a seperate continent as my family). It's really rough because they tend to be a huge part of your daily routine so their absense is constantly felt. It's going to take a lot of time, also when I was going through it I went through this meta stage of feeling guilty that I was more actively upset at a pet dying than some people, so try not to concern yourself with that. They were a huge part of your life and it's fine and healthy to grieve losing them.
Partner broke up with me. Gonna post through it like a good communist.
I want to have a brain smooth enough to believe that Hamas, a comparatively tiny resistance group in one of the poorest regions composed of 19-year-olds in adidas tracksuits, has this global propaganda network and masterfully spreads misinformation on twitter and tiktok 24/7.

Cool shit? New mixes of band stuff are sounding great and we've been doing some productive recording.
Bad news? Lost my means of earning money, and not sure if its temporary. Got back on the hunt for a substantial 'real job,' but going back tonight to both look for other online shit, as well as try setting myself up with my partners account since she did the same thing I was for a bit, but never completed the training.
Other news? Back in therapy and on new meds, but the new meds dont seem to have their intended effect.
Gonna go putter around and do my little tasks for the day. Holler at me!

Saw my grandpa in the hospital today. He's on hospice care. Might not make it through the night and probably wont last another 48 hours.
If your lunch doesn't give you flu-like symptoms for 10-20 minutes, it's not spicy enough. Hacking up a lung, nose running, cold sweats, etc. Purging my body of evil on a daily basis.
Decades of illness in the heart of mayostan have left my pain receptors a shadow of their once glory. : (
The fellas are all wearing 3 inch inseam shorts with slightly cropped T Shirts.
The funniest thing about modern offices I didn't realize happens: bosses want a lean operation, bosses don't want everyone taking vacation at once. That means any given task has like 1 person responsible. Any project needing people from multiple teams consequently gets put on hold Jun-Aug and Dec-mid january.
It is literally so inefficient to not either let people take their vacations at once or make sure you're adequetly staffed. Like most of my major projects are on hold for a third of the year lmao.
I know there are people who are like "im always on the grind answering emails when im on vacation" but the intersection between people like that and people whose work actively contributes to projects is the empty set.
I think the theory that lead to this mess is called "lean and mean" staffing and originated in the 80s.
I'm going to get at least 10 mangoes this week, maybe even 15 depending on how many are ripe
I'm gonna be real, I'm eating all of them within like 3 or 4 days
I fucking love mangoes fe
At my job interview today, I got a verbal offer! Waiting on the real papers, but it pays WELL above market value for the job, and it's an organization you've heard of, and will look VERY good for future positions and will give me a lot of connections after it ends.
Sir Mix-a-Lot but he's immortal
I like big butts
And I cannot die
His deep frier breaks:
I like big butts, but I cannot fry :(
He has issues talking to people:
I like big butts, but I'm way too shy
there is nothing that turns me straight to mode like the fucking contrapoints image (you know the one) because you know these motherfuckers would’ve consolidated around Hindenburg and would have felt morally superior for doing it
